The Future Of Business Card

January 10, 08 by You Teck

If there is ever one concept that is worth talking about, Handshake will undoubtedly be one of them.

You see, most of us love to do socializing and this is especially so for business owners and professionals. There’s the usual practice of having a handshake and maybe the exchange of business cards.

Now, imagine this, how cool it will be if all you need is a handshake and information that normally exits in a business card will be exchanged automatically? Well, with concept ‘Handshake’, all of that is possible just by putting on a special ring.

Handshake

Designed by a team of 3, the ring serve as an information storage device and it comes with a special card to access the information. If I may add another feature into this wonderful concept is that all those information that displayed in the card can be transferred into the mobile devices or PDAs, it will truly be top class.

Handshake Card

There shouldn’t be much concern for the power source as it runs on human temperature. The only thing you might need to worry about is losing the ring as it won’t be a very pretty sight. However, the advantages far outweigh the potential problems and I personally hope that this concept does come alive.

Even if you have a HD TV, it can never conjure an environment as realistic as that of a 3D glasses. Now imagine this, what if there is a digital gaming system that provides you with a realistic 3D environment, a super high tech gloves that functions like a PC mouse and bluetooth connectivity to communicate with other players?

Designed by Kate Huthmaker, The X-Gear displays everything that defines how future interactive gaming would be like. The user would be required to don on 3 equipments namely the HVD (Visual Display), interactive gloves and the wrist CPU. Information will be transmitted seamlessly between the 3 equipments during game play and I’m sure that the user will be so immerse into the game that he/she will definitely….. perspire!

I only hope for 2 things, it will go into production and it will not be extremely expensive.

Wink, Only For The Ladies

November 15, 07 by You Teck

I guess I might make a few enemies by saying this but, most of the ladies are not tech savvy. But hey, there is really nothing wrong with it because that is where guys like me come into place.

However, if Wink, does become real, I guess there wouldn’t be much need for guys like us (Tech guys) anymore. You see, Wink is a Personal Digital Document Assistant that is designed specially for the ladies who need to use this type of electronic device for their work. Normal devices may be a little too complex for them but for Wink, it can’t get any easier.

It works as a printer, scanner, and FAX and the best part is, it has an intuitive and simple interface to ease the user through its applications.

From a guy’s point of view, it kinda of look like a chick gaming console. From a ladies point of view, it’s definitely chick enough to be included in their fashion bag.

Can Home Mobility Assistant Become The Real Thing?

Conzap Wednesday: Here’s a very useful device which is aimed at helping the injured, elderly, or disabled. It seems as though a lot of thoughts has been put into the creation of this concept and I’m particularly impressed by the designer objective for this device, “To restores a sense of dignity and independence for the user”.

I like the way that there is a chest pad located at the top handler as this would really provide great comfort for the user should they need to bend down to pick up something. Movement using the device is also flexible due to the rehological fluid which is located in the joints and hinges.

How good it will be if this concept could materialize into a real product that would be available in every old folks home.

Conzap Wednesday: Drier and Cleaner

November 07, 07 by You Teck

Hand dryer is a good thing to have after we wash our hand. Now, how about having that very same device clean the germs off your hands as well?

DrierandCleaner.jpg

Introducing the Drier and Cleaner, the concept that was developed by Qian Jiang & Feijun Chen and was inspired by the drying of process we normally use in our daily lives. The device is eco-friendly as its powered by solar energy instead of the direct power output.

The device certainly doesn’t lose out in the looks section and although the Drier and Cleaner is directed at the normal household, I wonder how will the price fit in since solar panels don’t really come cheap. Regardless of the price, its still a very useful product.
