Amids all the fancy and pretty expensive notebooks that Sony have launched this week, the most budget version has got to be the VAIO NR Series.
Budget it may be, Sony have still came up with a unique textured finish that’s unseen in the industry before. Sporting a 15.4-inch display, there will be a Intel Core 2 Duo processors in its most expensive model for consumers who want a higher end notebook from the series.
The round edge on top of its fabric-like finishes of the laptop definitely give it a really fresh look and makes you want to touch it more.
Available in 3 different color variations, the lowest-priced model which is also called the Granite VAIO retails at 110 ($750 USD) while the other 2 colors are wenge, which is brown with copper accents, and Silk which is a fancy schmancy word for white.

While Sony Vaio Type G might not be the first in the laptop industry to come with a build in drainage system, it’s certainly the first of its kind in the Vaio series.

The laptop which has a very solid computing power from Core Solo U1400 1.2Ghz to Core Duo U7600 1.2Ghz has a complete drainage system built right under the palm rest.Should there be any accidental spills of liquid onto the laptop, you can rest assure that the liquid will flow right out through the draining holes located underneath the notebook.
Other than the cool drainage system, it can also withstand scratches from 5H pencils or in layman terms, fingernails. If you’re the extremely clumsy type, you’ll be glad that the laptop can withstand a drop of up to 72cm with its power on(or 90cm power off).
The Sony Vaio Type G will be expected to launched on October 6 in Japan with a starting price of $1500 USD/ $2257 SGD.
If you’ve finish the post and you’re still curious about which is the other brand that has a built in drainage system, its ‘ThinkPad’.

The wacky Web 2.0 train has just collided with the computer hardware industry.
The idea of user-generated PCs isn’t groundbreaking, but the level of creative control that buyers have is broadening. Take NVousPC, for instance (after you’ve figured out how to pronounce it, of course. Take your time). The new company, launched today, hopes to cash in on consumers who want to exercise complete control over the appearance of their notebooks.

The president and co-founder of NVousPC is former Alienware product development engineer Oscar Zapata. He escaped from his former employer a week before the company was snapped up by Dell. His new company is hoping to cash in on to the whole “PC as fashion accessory” trend by offering ubercustomization. So the boring black notebook gets a makeover, but it’s more Pimp My Ride than What Not To Wear.
NVous customers can configure a notebook online, then upload images that can be plastered on the lid. The panels can also be painted any color. Seriously.
Not only can you choose sea-green or purple stripes, you can get really silly with glow-in-the-dark, pearl and something Zapata calls “color shifting.” NVous also lets customers work with an in-house designer to fine-tune the look. Alternatively, you can send in your current notebook for a custom paint job, too.

Dell is keeping tight-lipped on this, but apparently they’ve got a new high-end XPS gaming laptop coming out soon called the XPS m1730. We all know about it, as it’s been leaked on Engadget, Laptoping, and our favorite French tech Web site, LesDeLLiens, among other places.
The purported M1730 should be worth checking out if the various online accounts are correct–it offers Intel’s new Core 2 Extreme X7800 CPU, a Blu-ray drive, SLI graphics, solid-state hard drive options, and other high-end parts. From the photos we’ve seen, it does have one major advantage over the current m1710–the new model has a separate number pad.
The latest Internet scuttlebutt has the system being delayed from its original late-August release date to September 21 for the U.S., Europe, and Asia, according to Engadget–so it’ll be a few more weeks before we see if all the online rumor mills were right

If you’re a super duper big fan of Lineage II and you want to show it to the whole wide world, this laptop from Toshiba wouldn’t be something you want to miss.

Specs as are follow:
- 17″ screen with WSXGA+ resolution
- 2GB of RAM
- GeForce 8700M GT
- Core 2 Duo CPU (BTO)
The lineage version of the Toshiba Dynabook Satellite WXW comes at a price of 1580€ and I feel it’s kind of pricey when there can be options to get a stick on skin instead. And yes, I know the specifications are tuned towards gaming but! Ok, nevermind, I get it, that’s what hardcore fans are all about huh.
I wonder how will the sales of whichever laptop company that decides to come out with the World Of Warcraft version, considering that there’s like 8 million players worldwide, it could reaped in huge profits especially for newly launched laptops.
